Shelfie – Discounted & Free Ebooks & Audiobooks App Reviews

The apps description says it all. Whats not to like? An excellent way to keep discounted eBooks for the physical books you already own, whether you bought it new and used.

Shelfie is a good app with tons of potential and the development team seems to be moving fast to make it all come together. I enjoy the apps integration with other book centric services such as Goodreads. The ebook and audio book redemption process is simple and fair, which is exciting for those with a large library. Also, it is fun to just browse and see what everyone else is keeping on their shelf for aesthetic reasons if nothing else. To summarize, I feel that Shelfie is a very intimate way to connect with other book readers in a way that offers incentives and they keep adding features, making it better all of the time. On a personal note, I did have some trouble using an older version of the app months back, however their customer service was exceptional and they swiftly remedied the issue in a timely manner.

Tech support was fast, effective. I like being able to put my books with my or other purchases, directly to iBooks

Great app! Hopefully more authors will allow their paperbacks/ hardcover books to be used in iBooks to read online as its so handy. If I waken in the night I dont have to disturb my hubby with a book light or the noise Id make looking for one and I can use this app with iBooks and my iPhone which means my book is with me wherever I go so I am making headway much quicker through the stuff I enjoy but hardly have time to read with being a mom and a teacher.

Ive been using Shelfie for over a year and have been able to claim a number of ebooks for the print editions I own. Most of these titles have come from Angry Robot and Tor books, which means theyre nicely ahead of the curve in comparison to the rest of the Big 5 publishers. I wish more publishing houses understood the added value of bundling print and digital ebooks, and hopefully Shelfie can help sway them! This is a great app and very easy to use. Give it a go!

I like having the ability to get electronic copies of books I physically own (even if it costs a couple of bucks) so that I can have them with me as I travel. I dont need to lug my hard copies with me any more. The only area for improvement is coverage of more book publishers. I have a number of books that dont have an ebook option through Shelfie. Im sure as the app grows, itll establish more relationships with other publishers.

I love the fact that I now have the option, for at least some of my books, to own both the physical and digital copies. I still prefer to sit down with a book in my hands when I can, but digital versions are always there with me, and I can take dozens of books with me whenever I travel. Selfie makes it easy to find books available for the reduced price digital copy.

I will probably end up changing this to a five star review once I get a response to my most recent questions from their customer service. As someone who has spent thousands and thousands of dollars on books that have mostly ended up in storage, this is my dream app! When it first came out, it kept saying that none of my devices were compatible. My only issues are that the app is still not able to find many of my books, some books (especially older ones) dont have barcodes, and peeling stickers off the barcode often is messy and difficult. When Ive tried to actually take a "shelfie," it hasnt worked. BUT the idea, execution, and design is awesome. Im sure the selection will improve as time goes on. I got my hopes up with Kindle Matchbook, and their selection has improved slightly. I am hoping that more books (especially textbooks) become available. The app is very high-quality. Like I said, once my questions and issues are addressed/answered, this would EASILY be a five star app. Their customer service is generally very professional, polite, and responsive. Once more of my books become available, I will probably spend a lot of money here. I REALLY hope the creators do not sell this app to some company that would ruin it (I liked the viggle app until it turned into a Perks app... it became completely unusable). I just wish I had more expendable income to spend on the books that are available. I have very high hopes for this app, and I am really excited to see it growing.

Shelfie is a nice way to add digital copies of your books. It was easy to use with a small learning curve.

I like the concept, but it wouldnt even let me log in to the app.

This is a spectacular & useful app. Ive used it a lot, even more than I realized I would at first which was a delightful surprise. And the one time the app had some difficulty finding a book Id taken a picture of that I knew would be in the Shelfie library (because it had the Shelfie logo & space to sign & submit to the Shelfie app on the inside cover), one of Shelfies incredible team members noticed from behind the scenes that I was having difficulty. Without me even contacting them, she jumped in, contacted me & sent me a copy of the iBook on her own! Remarkable. Now THAT is how you take care of your tribe. Kudos to Shelfie for employing outstanding people & for truly caring. Forever a fan!

Its great when it works but most of the time, I can not get the app to recognize the books I take a picture of. Then when it does find the book, it cant find the name and searching for the title of the book doesnt yield results.

This app is one of my favorites! I love how I can simply take a picture of my shelf and get all of my books on my phone to take with me where ever I go! I also love being able to connect with other readers and fans! I cant believe something like this hasnt been done before.

I use this to listen to all my EBooks. Great interface and system.
